Stuart and I are really looking forward to welcoming guests back to Keigwin House, but only when it is safe to do so and in line with the current government guidance and social distancing guidelines.
In readiness for this we are making some changes to how we do things here at Keigwin, but one thing is for certain and that is you can still expect a very warm welcome; however in keeping with social distancing guidelines we won’t be offering to shake your hands!
There will be an automatic hand sanitiser in the foyer which we will expect guests to use before entering the house. We will be providing anti bacterial handwash in the bathrooms and we will be disinfecting all the communal areas, including handrails, light switches and door handles etc three or more times daily.
Only the ensuite rooms plus one of the standard rooms will be let out, therefore the normally shared bathroom will be a private bathroom for the standard room only. By doing this we are also reducing our capacity to allow more space for our guests.
To help with social distancing we are putting a dining room table in to rooms 1, 4, 8 & 9 with room service breakfasts for these guests. Rooms 2, 3 & 6 will be able to use the dining room but with the tables spaced further apart, also maintaining social distancing
Guests will be asked to pre-order their breakfast the night before with an agreed time for breakfast to be served.
Regarding evening meals we can’t say which local restaurants will be open for ‘eat-in’, but several are already doing a takeaway service. At Keigwin we have always been happy for guests to bring in takeaways and eat in the dining room. However with some rooms now having their own dining table we are more than happy for evening meals to be eaten in the bedrooms, rather than the dining room.
Unfortunately we have had to remove our library of used books and information leaflets to further reduce the possibility of cross contamination.
Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate will still be provided for your room, but rather than put everything in each room we will provide these by agreement with you on arrival. We will also provide extra toilet rolls by request.
You can be assured that your room will have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before you arrive, but we will also leave a pack of antibacterial wipes in each room.
We have also changed our cancellation policy for the remainder of 2020. We will still ask for a deposit equal to the first nights stay, but you can now cancel up to 24 hours before arrival date and get your deposit back or transfer it to another date.
At Keigwin we are are trying our best to keep you all safe and well during your stay and we ask you to do the same, so if you feel at all unwell or have knowingly been in contact with someone with Covid19 prior to travel we ask you to please delay your trip for another time.
Stay safe and well and we look forward to welcoming you to Keigwin House as soon as it is safe to do so. Best wishes Fran & Stuart.
